For The Singer – A regression therapy of the Voice

Every human being comes into the world with a very special set of personal gifts with which he is then sent on the way to begin the journey of his life. In the case of Singers, born Singers, the voice makes itself heard at a very early age and takes hold of its rightful position around the age of three. The child sings, he relates to sounds, he hears and smiles, it soothes him and it drives him at the same time. As he grows, the voice grows along with him and by early childhood it is already apparent that there is something special -not only “vocally” but psychologically.

The psychology of the born singer is extraordinary …. The voice rules, everything revolves around the voice… It takes time for this to become apparent to the person as well as to his surroundings, but it becomes obvious as time goes on. His mood depends upon the voice … If it works and succeeds, he is elated and happy and if not, moody and grouchy …. No one really understands him- he is really only happy and content when he sings, he feels fulfilled or empty-his voice is the key.
In the 35 + Years plus that I am teaching (and my life is completely dedicated to the voice) , I have met hundreds of singers – in the theaters, in the studio of other teachers, in my master classes, as my private students, through their writings to me, through their sharing confidences with me.
They all have the one thing in common: their Instruments are their life. Their commitment to the playing of it outweighs any obstacle and ultimately overcomes it, to give to the voice it’s due. In my books ” The Voice:A Spiritual Approach to Singing, Speaking and Communicating -The Kabbalah of the Voice ” I discuss this in great detail and of course substantiate this with examples of singers, great ones who ultimately lost their lives prematurely due to the loss of their voices. The world attributes this to many different things, drugs, alcohol, life style – but ultimately it’s about the Voice and related directly to the loss of their voices.

Something happens in the mind of the singer, something deeply human, something personal, ….something shifts…it hurts, it creates happiness, it destroys relationships, it sends you flying high or puts you down in the dumps…the Voice is the most powerful source of communication a human being has and how it is used, how it is trained to “work” for you, will ultimately determine the extent of its potential.

I do not subscribe to the “FACH” system which places voice in great limitation. “You are the voice! The full vocal potential, the possibility of going beyond what a FACH will place you into. Because of this ‘thing’ which you are being told from the onset, you remain vocally chained and in many ways unfulfilled because you cannot reach beyond the threshold of being a mezzo soprano, a baritone, a bass etc. You are branded – most of the time wrongly by people who have no clue of who you are and especially what your real capabilities are.

None of what they tell you really applies….yes the instrument is built in a certain way, yes, the color of the instrument is predetermined, yes the system is big or small or long or short …all true – but that does NOT mean that if it is played in the right place, it shouldn’t be able to do anything WHICH YOUR MIND CAN PERCEIVES AND YOUR MOUTH, PARTICULARLY YOUR LIPS, CAN SPEAK.

I do not believe in limitation! The instrument is played in the mind and the mind is endless possibility, limited only by your own thoughts and conceptions, perceptions, knowledge and misconceptions.

The technique of bringing out the best of your instrument is GIRO VOCAL MOTION TECHNIQUE which is outlined in great detail in my books, videos and CD. The dis-engagement of the throat, the liberation of the instrument and the releasing of physical control and exchanging it for the heightened mental capabilities, that is what I teach my students.
Essentially the work is a REGRESSION THERAPY of the Voice… Since all we learn is to return to the use of the original blueprint, which came along with the original package, our job is to return it to the optimum position and grow it in its own habitat.

How to go about and achieve that and how to rebuild the instrument under all circumstances, how to gain complete control without controlling, is the simplicity of is the secret of Giro vocal motion technique and that is what you will be taught through my books, videos CD, or by me.
