The English 5th edition is on its way! Publishing date September 1. 2019 I am very excited. It has taken quite a bit to decide to change the title that the book has had for 19 years, since it’s first publication in 1999, but the time for change has come!

The Voice a Spiritual Approach to Singing, Speaking and Communicating was the beginning, The REVEALED VISION followed, What Happened to great Singing and the Kabbalah of the Voice were next and now I am ready to finally release the BRAND! GIRO VOCAL MOTION©, which of course was there from the beginning and the basis of all my work – always – but everything has a time and a place and even though ‘THE SPIRITUAL APPROACH’ has not changed, nor will it ever, GIRO VOCAL MOTION© must be the identifying name that goes along with the work.

It has taken years to define and refine every detail of the technical aspects of this work – the underlying factors being totally technical and completely based on physical occurrences in the body, the mind and yes, the soul…. but once that has been ‘put’ into the system, the work itself is totally and completely ‘non physical’ . That is obviously not to say that the physicality of the voice is not involved, but it is so deeply ingrained in the system, that ‘the body’ seems to work on it’s own being led by the knowledge and thought processes which have been learned and impressed upon it.

THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY to work the instrument without knowing it, being totally in tune with it and having a real handle on the needs of the instrument (voice).

There are those ‘geniuses’, not many, who have never changed the natural positioning of the instrument, but they are few and far and in between. For the normal mortal among the flock, technique is absolutely the basis for interacting with the word, the music, the interpretation and the longevity of the Voice. The big problems really arise when the teacher has no clue of how to ‘touch’ the essential parts of the Voice – and unless they have been my student AND HAVE MY FULL PERMISSION TO USE MY WORK, DESCRIPTIONS, WORDING AND CONCEPTS (if they do without authorization I will sue them), or have had the same INSTRUCTOR as me, (unlikely but not impossible) they will not know and botch things up…creating the holy mess we have today in the world in every part of the discipline be it classical, opera, pop, jazz or musical.

(For your information there is only one teacher worldwide who has my full authority to teach Giro Vocal Motion©. His name is PAOLO BRANDANO AND HE IS THE OWNER OF THE ‘VOCAL MUSIC CENTER’ IN OLBIA, SARDEGNA. HE RECEIVED HIS CERTIFICATE AND AUTHORIZATION TWO WEEKS AGO after 2 years of intensive study with me and after I saw that in reality his students represent the work . There is much to be done, but it’s a great beginning)

The instruments have not changed, the talents have not changed– the teaching has changed — the knowledge has been dropped by the wayside and been ‘created’ to go along with the needs of the business…fast and furious – fazzoletti style…meaning kleenex… use it and then throw it out! There is another one waiting in the wings when you can’t do it anymore, when you begin to have trouble, wobble, nodules, sore throats…you know the story….and then of course, you begin teaching – the same mistakes that have brought you were you are today….You sing your heart out to your students, so they should KNOW HOW TO DO IT YOUR WAY and with this the ruination is complete. The mark of the teacher is the imprint on the students voice. His own individual instrument will never make its debut! it will be covered with the mud, the experience and the downfall of his teacher. Sorry…that’s a fact! I DO NOT SING AND NEITHER WILL ANYONE WHO REPRESENTS MY WORK, WHILE TEACHING.

Well here we are…After 35 plus years and hundreds of voices GIRO VOCAL MOTION© is finally coming into its own. Caution: Without THE SPIRITUAL PART OF THE PLAYING OF THE INSTRUMENT, CARING FOR IT AND KNOWING IT, there is no Giro in the world that will give you greatness. There has to be a balance…knowing, learning, listening internally, knowing how the system works, how it is connecting and being mentally stimulated in the correct way to be able to physically and emotionally ready to handle all of it.

It is not just about technique – without technique there is nothing to talk about, but once that is set, the spiritual side of the sound, the word and the expression must follow to combine into forming the total.

You can rip your guts out physically, pushing and belting, forcing and destroying, as so many of your colleagues have done (in every genre) …you can have operations…but you cannot master the instrument without all pieces being in place.

THE VOICE: GIRO VOCAL MOTION© – ‘THE SECRET OF BEL CANTO’ is the culmination of all of it – it is the work of my life, the essence of everything I have taught, learned, felt, been given by my MASTER and it is the sum total of what is needed to return to the real way of beautiful singing which enters your heart, your soul and combines with the spiritual essence of every REAL singers being.

Here is the way, very simple, very openly explained and EASILY understandable if you are open of course… written in the exact way that I teach it. Everything that you will find along with the technical aspects is extremely important in the final putting it all together, in the troubleshooting the instrument because at the end of it all it is LIFE…experiences and habits that will make you or brake you.

I give instruction…all of it…I am clear and ask for only one thing…follow everything one after the other without skipping, speed reading…you will miss the boat…follow me…step by step …leave behind the past and follow into the true essence of your instrument and you will be happier than you ever imagined…forget YOURSELF…and listen to the VOICE.
